DescriptionThere are two operators here: world_align and world_align_inverse. world_align will rotate the input geometry so that it gets aligned with the world. It does so by creating an oriented bounding box around this object, and rotates this box so that its edges are aligned with the world. It then applies that same transformation to the input geometry. It also stores detail attributes so that the world_align_inverse can transform back the geometry to its original translation and rotation. This can be useful when you want to transform an object automatically so that you can apply some process onto it, such as shattering or volume creation for collisions in DOP. You can also transform volumes. See the demo hip file for examples. Gallery
